Karamoja Business Icon Cornelius Kodet Lorika Dies at Home in Entebbe

Businessman Cornelius Kodet Lorika, the well-known owner of Entebbe Aero Beach, has died. The family confirmed that Kodet passed away on December 7, 2025, at his home in Entebbe.

Kodet was one of the earliest and most successful entrepreneurs from Karamoja. He also owned Mt. Moroto Hotel, one of the first modern leisure and accommodation facilities in the region. Many people in Karamoja and across Uganda knew him for his vision, courage, and commitment to developing the area.

Captain Mike Mukula paid tribute to him, calling Kodet “one of Uganda’s finest businessmen.” In his message posted on X, Mukula said the Lord Almighty has recalled a great business icon and praised Kodet’s contribution to Uganda and Karamoja.

Burial Arrangements

According to the burial program, a funeral service will be held at All Saints Church, Nakasero, on Wednesday, December 10, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

In a statement, the family described Kodet as a man of humour, love, warmth, and kindness. They celebrated his generous spirit, his commitment to community development, and his passion for uplifting people from all walks of life.
