Harambee Stars Striker Michael Ogada Olunga has signed a new deal with Japanese Football Club Kashiwa Reysol that will see him earn Sh15 million a month.
On Friday, Olunga who used to play for Chinese side Guizou Zhicheng shared the news of joining the Japanese League after signing his new contract on Thursday.
“New Roads, New Rivers, New Chapter. Beginning of another unfolded history,” shared Olunga on his Instagram page.
The former Gor Mahia player becomes the first Kenyan footballer to play professionally in Japan.
Olunga’s new salary now features him on the list of Kenyan footballers who are highly paid. Tottenham Hotspurs Victor Wanyama takes home Sh22 million every month.
In January, Olunga made history after becoming the first Kenyan footballer to score a hat-trick in Laliga.
