Henley & Partners Ugandan passport ranks 77th on the world's most powerful passport index

A new report published by global citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley & Partners has ranked Uganda's passport 77th on the world's most desirable passports index.

The quarterly report was released on October 9th to reveal how many borders some travel documents can cross.

Citizens of Uganda can seamlessly enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 64 destinations around the world.

They can travel to 27 African nations, 12 Asia countries, 8 Oceania nations, 12 Caribbean countries, 4 South America nations and 1 Middle East country.

Other East African countries like Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania rank 73rd, 87th and 74th respectively.

Japan now has the most powerful passport in the world; its citizens enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 190 destinations.

The index and its contents are based on data provided by the International Air Transport Authority (IATA). It includes 199 different passports and 227 different travel destinations.
