Bobi Wine believes Ugandan security operatives wanted to kill him
The Kyadondo East legislator was brutally arrested in Arua mid-August for allegedly pelting stones to President Museveni's motorcade.
Wine, 36, said in an interview that he was supposed to be dead when the incident happened on August 13th.
"They had come to kill me. They by mistake killed my driver. I was supposed to be dead. They did all the violent acts that they could and realised they couldn't stop us," he said.
Wine's driver, Yasin Kawuma, was killed by what police authorities described as a "stray bullet".
Reports show that he was waiting in the car outside the parking lot of the hotel where the legislator was staying.
The musician-turned-MP was detained for about two weeks in a military facility where he sustained injuries from torture acts by Ugandan soldiers.
