The legislator led a small group of protesters in a march against the controversial taxes. The group's effort to march to the Constitutional Square was foiled by police. The security officers fired tear gas to disperse the peaceful demonstrations.
Earlier, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said they are looking for Bobi Wine for inciting violence and holding unlawful processions.
The celebrated politician, who also doubles as a musician, has taken it to Twitter to post a perfect response to the police's summon saying: Am told The police is looking for me. Am here at parliament, come and get me".
Bobi Wine has told Parliament that "demonstration against social media tax was peaceful".
He added that: "Since the passing of the excise duty (amendment) bill 2018, the youths have decried limited access".
He is one of the three Members of Parliament who strongly voted and debated against the controversial social media tax in Parliament.
