Uganda's highest football governing body has banned 3 match officials who officiated in the Vipers Vs Express FC match on Wednesday.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) made the decision following advice of the Referees Disciplinary Panel and the FUFA Referees Standing Committee.

The 2nd Assistant Referee Mr. Kakembo Samuel has been banned from performing refereeing services of all FUFA organised and sanctioned Competitions for 5 years.

The game's main referee Mr Kirangwa Ronald will serve a 3 years ban from all football-related activities in the country while 1st Assistant Referee Ms. Nantabo Lydia Wanyama faces a 60 days ban.

The three officials will be further investigated by FUFA Committee for Match Integrity.

 

Express FC Vs Vipers

The game ended 1-1 on Wedneday after Vipers FC's substitute Tito Okello netted an equaliser.

The goal was contested by players and fans after Okello scored from an offside position.

After the match, angry fans rioted prompting police to fire teargas.
