Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has made a rare emotional interview on the struggles he has been battling as his wife, Pauline Musyoka, battles an undisclosed sickness over the past four years.

The former Vice President said that things have been hard on him as he has struggled to balance his political career with the demands of having an ailing spouse.

He added that some of his colleagues have taken advantage of his situation to look down on him and deny him the respect he deserves.

"I am at lowest currently, with a sick wife and not in any elective position. Not even earning what is rightfully yours...People looking down on you when you are down there and throwing stones at you," Kalonzo narrated.

The veteran politician has won public admiration over his commitment to his wife of thirty four years.

In late 2017, Kalonzo left the country for a ten-week trip to Germany where he remained with Pauline even as his coalition was in the streets fighting the outcome of the presidential election.

Last year, Musyoka publicly shed tears during a press conference where ODM Leader Raila Odinga condemned an attack that had been carried out at the former VPs Karen home.

The Wiper Leader was overwhelmed by emotions when Odinga mentioned that the attack was likely to cause Mrs Musyoka more pain as she recovered.

On Sunday, the Wiper Leader said he is hopeful that his wife will recover and add on a testimony on God's faithfulness.

"But I know that this is temporary because I believe that my wife will be well. And if that happens, it will be a testimony to the whole world," Kalonzo said.
