A potential new cure for baldness has been found using a drug that was originally intended to treat a fragile bones condition called osteoporosis.

Researchers found that the drug stimulated hair follicles, causing them to grow.

It contains a compound which targets a protein that impedes hair growth resulting in baldness.

Clinical trials still need to be conducted to ensure that the drug would be safe for people to use.
