Miss Uganda Abenakyo Quiin has returned home from China where she emerged 4th in the Miss World pageant competition.
Abenakyo, 22, made history when she became the first ever Miss Uganda to reach that level in the competition.
The Business Computing graduate was crowned Miss World Africa (continental) at the competition.
She is expected to meet President Kaguta Museveni at State House in Entebbe.
A small crowd of people, including journalists, camped at the airport since Wednesday mid-morning waiting for the beauty queen's arrival.
She was welcomed by Uganda's tourism board officials in presence of other former Miss Uganda crown holders including Sylvia Namutebi and Leah Kagasa.
While speaking to press, Abenakyo was thankful for the support Ugandans showed her during the competition and 'I'm glad I was able to make it for my country'.
