Miss Uganda has met with President Kaguta Museveni at State House in Entebbe.
Abenakyo Quiin, 22, was crowned Miss World Africa at the Miss World pageant competitions in China.
She arrived in the country on Wednesday aboard Emirates with Miss Uganda Foundation CEO Brenda Nanyonjo.
Museveni, 74, described the business computing graduate as the true definition of 'beauty with brains'.
The president congratulated Abenakyo upon achieving the historic milestone for her country.
Her visit was graced by some government officials including Uganda Tourism Board -- which has previously distanced itself from the activities of Miss Uganda Foundation until recently when its beauty queen made headlines in China.
Miss Uganda Foundation will from this year be supported by the government as its tourism body seeks to market the country's beauty through the foundation's activities.
