State Minister for Tourism Godfrey Kiwanda on Tuesday flagged the Tulambule tourism campaign in Kampala.
The campaign, which is aimed at promoting Uganda's tourism, was supposed to be led by Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo.
Abenakyo was named Uganda's Goodwill Tourism Ambassador in January after her success at the Miss World where she was crowned Miss World Africa.
The beauty queen has been replaced by socialite and media personality Anita Fabiola. This comes weeks after postponement of the campaign after Miss Uganda foundation issued a statement saying Abenakyo had developed an illness.
Fabiola, Miss Tourism Uganda Margaret Kankwanzi, Miss Earth Josephine Nabirye and Emily Ayen Miss Karamoja will be part of the trip.
Reports indicate that Miss Uganda Abenakyo failed to come to an agreement with the tourism ministry.
Last month during a plenary session in Parliament, Speaker Rebecca Kadaga urged the tourism ministry to draft an agreement with Miss Uganda before involving her in their activities.
Meanwhile, Abenakyo travelled with Speaker of Parliament Kadaga to the eastern part of the country for a joint tour.
