Manchester United are ready to launch a bid for Hannover 96 attacker Linton Maina, according to German publication

Maina is said to have caught the eye of a few scouts at the English club owing to his impressive displays in pre-season matches.

The German U-19 international has already tasted first-team action with Hannover and is part of coach André Breitenreiter's plans for the new campaign.

Manchester United are seeking an immediate deal but are happy to let the attacking midfielder remain in Germany until the January transfer window.

Maina was born in Berlin to German Mother and Kenyan father and made his professional debut for Hannover 96 on March 18, 2018.

He started out his youth career in 2003, playing for SV Pfefferwerk for seven years before moving to Hannover.

He has made three appearances for the German under 16 national team, four for the under 17s, six for the under 18s and five for the under 19 side.
