The former NTV presenter had been posting pictures of classy shoes, food and designs and passing them as her own before curious online users noticed that she had been deceiving the public for some time now.

The beautiful lass was caught red handed after she stole a salad photo and posted on her Instagram page crediting herself for making the food, captioning the image, "I make a bad ass salad #NomNomNom #Salad #KobiWithAnEye."

However, the move backfired on her after one Shaffie Weru, another media personality, noted that the salad picture was actually from Pinterest and was not hers as she had publicly stated.

Upon further digging and scrutiny, Kenyans were aghast to find out that it was not just the salad that she had lied about, almost majority of her posts were lies.

Kenyans couldn’t stay calm after realising their ‘perfect TV girl’ whom many had put on a pedestal was living a lie. Disappointed and angry, they took to Twitter to roast her under the #KobiKiharaChallenge by posting the original pictures alongside the edited pictures from Kobi.

Others also began posting photos of their imaginary lives complete with all luxury they could imagine.

Kobi, however, is not the only Kenyan who has been caught in a lie like this.

Here are just a few other Kenyans who have walked this path and know it too well.

Octopizzo

Kenyan rapper Octopizzo was exposed by online users last month after it turned out that he had stolen a photo from an international artist with the pretense that it was him.

He shared a photo of a person posing in front of Maserati, with an environment that looked posh.

One social media user however went a step further and carefully examined the photo, discovering that the rapper had taken a photo of Lil Wopster aka Lil Wop, another rapper.

Octo took advantage of his similar body structure with Lil Wop to fool online users that the photo was his.

The photo in question was shared on Lil Wop’s account on March 23rd 2018, while Octo shared the photo on June 22.

Steve Mbogo

Before he was exposed, Steve Mbogo claimed to own twelve 4-star hotels in Kenya, over 30 apartment blocks and a flight training academy at the Wilson Airport.

He has also sensationally claimed that he was ranked among East Africa’s richest young men under 30 years by Forbes magazine.

He has claimed to be a board member of several organisations, all of which have come out to disown him.

Heshan de Silva

Before he was exposed, Heshan de Silva was the perfect picture of a successful entrepreneur living life with a big spoon. It’s not every day you hear of 25 year old billionaires.

He further convinced Kenyans he was the real deal after he bought part of a premier media company, Motion Image and Sound (MIS) which deals with artist management, music production among other things.

The fact that he was a billionaire at 25 gained him a legion of followers with his followers hanging to his every word, retweeting his tweets in fervor and reposting his quotes on Instagram very enthusiastically.

However, his cover was soon blown after a reputable PR firm publicly ditched him.
