ANC Secretary General Barrack Muluka has broken the silence after reports spread like bush fire that NASA leader Raila Odinga kicked him out of the Summit that took place on Monday at Stoni Athi resort in Athi River.

Speaking to during a phone interview, Mr Muluka dismissed the reports and issued an explanation of what transpired during the closed-door meeting.

According to the political analyst, him together with former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana among others left the meeting room to allow the four NASA principals - Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula - to deliberate privately.

Muluka further dismissed allegations by ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna that he was not invited to the meeting.

“I was invited for the meeting and I attended the first part of it before the Principals requested us to leave the room so that they can deliberate on important issues among them.

“I was shocked when I saw reports that we had been kicked out. How could Raila kick me out? I am the secretary General of ANC. How could he kick out someone like Kivutha Kibwana or even Boni Khalwale. Nobody asked me whether it was true I had been kicked out yet they (journalists) were at the venue,” he said.

Muluka added that after the private deliberations they were called back into the meeting room and were briefed on what was agreed upon.

“After briefing us, that was when they addressed the press and issued the statement delivered by ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi,” he said.

Mr Muluka emphasized that he does not disagree with Mr Odinga’s  decision to meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

However, the ANC Secretary General is on record criticizing Mr Odinga for striking a deal with Mr Kenyatta without informing his NASA co-principals.
