2016 will forever be one of those nightmare years for Congolese Lingala maestro Koffi Olomide after what happened at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport when he assaulted one of his female dancers.

That memory continues to haunt  the 61-year-old singer todate.

He is returning to Kenya this month with remorse to perform at a high level political conference -- amid mixed reactions from the public -- over the incident which led to his deportation in 2016.

Mr. Olomide, speaking to press at the sidelines of a private gig in Kampala on Friday, reiterated his apology saying he is "only human" and truly regrets his actions.

"I apologise. I'm only a human being. I want to also apologise to Ugandan women," he said.

There will be a cloud of mixed reactions in Kenya when the singer finally performs at a national conference which will be officiated by President Uhuru Kenyatta involving Kenya’s 47 governors on April 24th.
